Cherry Blossom Kyoto

Watercolor on Paper. Artist's Statement: This work is one of my favorites and I hardly do pointillism now. I was inspired by the cherry blossoms of Kyoto. The park on the hillside had different shades of pink, peach… I always paint nature from memory… I made a series of watercolor cherry blossoms in the late 90s. I enjoyed pointillism! My dreamscapes reflect a fascination with the nuances of light - radiant and luminous - in nature, impressions of timeless vistas blend with memories of the future and deja vu images of the past. This panorama of artworks reflects a contemplative odyssey, a discovery of insights through cathartic experience, and evolvement of the soul.
