Pigment Ink on Archival Fine Paper. Artist's Statement: The two artworks I submitted for SpectaculART 2 are part of my "TonaLinear" Series. The collection is influenced in equal parts by my training in industrial drawing and fine arts. I love playing with the contrast between studied, purposeful lines, and soft blends and tones. I am fascinated how something can be both discipline and free-flowing at the same time. The style may remind one of stained glass works where lead holds together colored glass panels, creating outlines. Others may see a cubist influence in the mechanical lines and simplified forms. However one may appreciate them, they are all meant to capture a moment and hopefully elicit a reaction to make the viewer smile, wonder, hope, crave or cry even, for this is always my art's intent. SIKLISTA shows man and machine working as one, efficiently slicing through a headwind, aerodynamically tucked and pedaling with grace and power. It is poetry and motion.
